About Bimota

Bimota is an Italian boutique sportbike brand, founded in 1973 in Rimini by Valerio Bianchi, Giuseppe Morri and Massimo Tamburini. The name is a compound of the founders' surnames. The company produces exclusive sportbikes in small numbers, combining its own advanced chassis designs with engines sourced from major Japanese and European manufacturers (Kawasaki, Ducati, BMW, Suzuki, Yamaha). Bimota is known for technical innovations such as the hub-centre steering concept (Tesi series) and extremely lightweight frame construction. Kawasaki is now a shareholder. The current range includes the Tesi H2 (with Kawasaki Ninja H2 engine) and the KB series (KB4, KB998 Rimini).

In the Netherlands, Bimota has virtually no regular dealer presence; bikes are delivered to order or via specialist importers. The target audience consists of collectors and enthusiasts willing to pay a significant premium for exclusivity, technical distinctiveness and Italian craftsmanship. Second-hand Bimotas are relatively rare on the Dutch market and hold their value well. Servicing requires familiarity with the specific platform and is not possible at every dealer.
