Privacy Policy

When you create an account, we store your name and email address. If you sign in with Apple, Facebook or Google, we receive the profile details they share with us. We also store your saved motorcycles, saved searches, notification settings, messages, and the text and photos of your own listings. In the mobile app, we also store a random installation ID, device details and an Apple push token to secure your account, manage signed-in devices and send notifications.

You can sign in with your Apple, Facebook or Google account. We only receive the basic profile details needed to sign you in. With Apple, you can choose Hide My Email. We never see your contacts, messages or other account data. We only use these details for your MotorMonitor account.

Sharing your location is optional. If you choose 'use my current location', we convert your coordinates once into a postcode for the distance filter. You can also type a postcode yourself. We do not use your location for ads or tracking. You can turn push notifications for searches, listings and messages on or off in the app or on your phone.

We use your data to run MotorMonitor: managing your account, saving favourites and searches, sending notifications and messages, publishing and reviewing listings, preventing abuse, fixing bugs and answering questions. We never sell your data or track you across other apps or websites.

MotorMonitor only uses functional cookies. They are needed to keep you signed in and remember your language and display settings. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

When something goes wrong, the website and app send technical error details to Bugsnag so we can fix the problem. This includes your app and device version and what failed. It is never used for ads or tracking. We also count which pages are visited, with which device type and a shortened IP address. Individual visits are kept for 90 days, and after that only daily totals per page. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page speed without cookies and without tracking you.

We only share data with services needed to run MotorMonitor: our hosting and email providers, Apple for push notifications, Bugsnag for error reporting, Cloudflare for security and speed, and Apple, Facebook or Google when you sign in with them. Otherwise, we only share data when required by law or to stop fraud and abuse.

You can view, edit, export or delete your personal data at any time. You can update your profile and delete your account in your account settings on the website or in the app, or email support@motormonitor.nl. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, saved motorcycles, saved searches, settings and connected devices. Your own listings go offline, conversations close, and your name is unlinked from past messages. Backups are deleted within 30 days. Data needed for legal obligations or fraud prevention is kept only as long as required.

If this privacy policy changes, we update this page. For major changes, we send an email or show a notice on the site.
