About the Bimota DBX
The Bimota DBX is an exceptionally rare Bimota enduro/dual-sport based on the Ducati Hypermotard 1100 DS. It debuted around 2012 and combines the air-cooled 1,078 cc Ducati L-twin with long-travel Öhlins enduro suspension and 21/18-inch spoked wheels. It is not a conventional adventure tourer, but a tall, light exotic twin for unpaved riding and twisty secondary roads.
Production was extremely limited, making provenance and completeness essential. The 95 hp engine requires off-road experience and the parts mix is specialised. Confirm original Bimota DBX parts, correct spoked wheels and suspension, and buy only with convincing Ducati-engine and Bimota-chassis records.

What to check before buying
- Check Ducati 1100 DS timing belts, valve clearances, oil leaks and injection with invoices.
- Inspect 21/18-inch wheels, spokes, rims and bearings for off-road or crash damage.
- Check the long-travel Öhlins enduro suspension for leaks, corrosion and professional overhaul.
- Verify frame, engine and document numbers; DBX production was small and conversion projects exist.
- Ask about availability of DBX-specific Bimota bodywork, tank and chassis parts before purchase.
