About the Yamaha FZ 6
The Yamaha FZ6 is the fuel-injected 600cc inline-four that Yamaha positioned from 2004 as a usable road bike alongside the supersport R6. It was sold as the naked FZ6 N and the half-faired FZ6 Fazer. It is not an FZ8: the FZ6 remains a 599cc machine producing about 72 kW, including the later S2 version. That distinction matters because adverts and imports are regularly labelled as FZ6 when they are actually the successor.
Its riding position is far more practical for commuting and weekend touring than an R6, while the four-cylinder becomes properly lively at higher revs. A Fazer gives better weather protection, whereas an N feels lighter and more direct in town. On a used FZ6, service history, exhaust condition and clean fuelling and transmission behaviour matter more than accessories or graphics.
