Years2024–present
The Aprilia RS 457 is the lightweight sport motorcycle from 2024 with a 457 cc parallel twin, aluminium frame and 35 kW A2 output. On young examples, check first service, software and TFT, chain and tyres, plus fairings and steering stops for crash or track marks.

The Aprilia RS 457 has been the brand's entry-level supersport since 2024 and was deliberately developed for the A2 licence class. It is powered by an all-new 457cc 270-degree-crank parallel-twin producing 48 hp, exactly the A2 limit. Aprilia built a twin-spar aluminium frame around the engine, making the RS 457 unusually light for its class at 175 kg ready to ride. Styling and stance are clearly derived from the RSV4 with sharp headlights and an aggressive nose. ABS, traction control and three riding modes are standard.
The RS 457 targets young or newly-licensed sport riders on an A2 licence who refuse to compromise on styling or technology. With an 800 mm seat height and light weight it is forgiving for beginners, while the sporty chassis and adjustable front fork also appeal to experienced riders for trackdays. Competitors include the Yamaha R3, Kawasaki Ninja 400 and KTM RC 390. The Aprilia stands out with greater displacement, more low-end torque and standard riding modes. On the used market you mostly find low-mileage examples because the model is still young.

Verify the first service with valve clearance check has been carried out; new parallel-twins require a proper run-in service
Test all three riding modes and traction control for correct operation and absence of error codes
Inspect the drive chain; A2 riders with limited experience often neglect chain and sprocket maintenance
Check fairings and bar ends for crash damage; sportbikes in this class are commonly dropped by beginners
Ask for complete service history and ECU updates; early 2024 models received software updates
