Years
2011 - 2017
The final European generation is lighter and shorter, with Brembo monoblocs and a Showa BPF fork; later years mainly bring colour updates.
Years
2008 - 2010
This generation adds three power modes and a larger emissions-compliant exhaust, becoming slightly heavier while retaining the same supersport foundation.
Years
2006 - 2007
The K6/K7 is fully redesigned with a short under-engine exhaust, slipper clutch and compact chassis, making it a popular track-day platform.
Years
2004 - 2005
The K4/K5 adds radial calipers, an upside-down fork and sharper engine tuning, sharing substantial hardware with the contemporary GSX-R750.
Years
2001 - 2003
The K1 generation gained fuel injection, a more compact frame and substantially lower weight; K1, K2 and K3 model codes follow the model year.
Years
1997 - 2000
The SRAD generation is identified by its rounded ram-air intakes and aluminium frame, moving the 600 into the full supersport category.
Years
1992 - 1996
The early GSX-R600 is a relatively rare 750-derived supersport; verify market code and year because specifications vary by country.
The Suzuki GSX-R 600 has been on sale as a 600 cc supersport since 1992 (1997 in Europe) and ranks alongside the Honda CBR 600 and Yamaha YZF-R6 as a benchmark in the class. The 599 cc four-stroke makes around 106 hp on the Dutch registration, with factory specs reaching up to 124 hp on later generations. Kerb weight is roughly 190 kg, paired with a short wheelbase, an upside-down fork and, from the K6 (2006) onward, radial-mount front brake calipers. From 2011 (L1) the bike has shared its chassis with the GSX-R 750.
The GSX-R 600 targets riders who want the track DNA of a litre supersport in a more manageable package. The smaller-displacement engine puts its power in the upper rev range, making the bike ideal for track days and sporty weekend rides. For commuting, the aggressive ergonomics are less forgiving; many owners run it as a second bike. Direct rivals are the Honda CBR 600 RR, Yamaha YZF-R6, Kawasaki ZX-6R and Triumph Daytona 675.
A used Suzuki GSX-R 600 costs €5,500 on average. Most cost €2,283 to €7,735. This is based on 106 motorcycles for sale now.
