About the Aprilia RS 125
The Aprilia RS 125 is the Italian brand's 125 cc supersport, sold in two very different generations. From 1992 to 2012 it was a liquid-cooled Rotax two-stroke single, delivered in full race-replica trim with aluminium twin-spar frame and unrestricted output between 25 and 33 hp. Since 2017 the RS 125 uses a four-stroke single producing 14.75 hp, A1 licence ready, with a current wet weight of around 137 kg. Both generations share the GP-derived styling.
The RS 125 targets young riders on A1 or AM licences and enthusiasts of classic two-stroke engineering. The four-stroke version is a textbook way to learn sporty riding without heavy insurance costs. The two-stroke is now a collector's bike and a popular track-day weapon. Rivals include the Yamaha YZF-R125, KTM RC 125 and Honda CBR125R/CB125R. Not ideal for long-distance use or commuting, but unbeatable as a first sport bike or track-school tool.
