About Laverda

Laverda is an Italian motorcycle brand founded in 1949 in Breganze, Veneto, by Francesco Laverda. The brand built a powerful reputation with large, hard-edged twins and triples, including the iconic 750 SFC, the 1000/1200 Jota and the 3C. The Jota was regarded in the 1970s as one of the fastest production motorcycles in the world. After financial difficulties in the 1990s and early 2000s, production ceased. The brand is no longer commercially active today but lives on in the classic and collectors market.

In the Dutch used-motorcycle market Laverda machines are scarce and sought-after classics, particularly the 750 SF/SFC, Jota and 120-degree triples from the 1970s and 1980s. They are offered through specialist classic dealers and typically command higher prices than comparable Italian marques due to their rarity and cult status. Maintenance requires genuine specialist knowledge; buyers should factor in limited original parts availability.
