About the Laverda 750 SFC
The Laverda 750 SFC is the rare road-legal homologation special based on the 750 twin. SFC means Super Freni Competizione: in the early 1970s it was built for riders wanting a very serious Italian endurance racer with registration. The 744 cc parallel twin, drum- or disc-brake arrangement and distinctive orange fibreglass vary by series. It is heavy and physical by modern standards, but its stiff chassis, long tank and mechanical directness make it special.
An SFC is a collector motorcycle and should be bought on originality, documentation and technical condition. It is not suitable as a daily classic or a first vintage bike. Verify production number, correct SFC components and the history of engine and brake rebuilds. A carefully restored machine with traceable provenance is far more valuable than one merely made to look like an SFC from ordinary 750 parts. Riding it demands respect for its heavy controls and period braking.

What to check before buying
- Verify frame number, engine number and SFC production number with a Laverda specialist.
- Check crankshaft, primary drive and gearbox for documented rebuild work and metal in the oil.
- Check drum or disc brakes, cables and hydraulics for safe operation and correct original specification.
- Inspect frame, tank and fibreglass for cracks, poor restoration or crash damage.
- Confirm carburettors, exhausts and air filters match SFC specification, not merely the appearance.
