2024-current Ninja 500 SE
GenerationFrom 2024, the Ninja 500 SE is the better-equipped A2 version of the 451 cc Ninja 500. Match this row only to an explicit Ninja 500 SE designation; standard Ninja 500 adverts share the mechanics but do not prove SE equipment.
About the Kawasaki Ninja 500 SE
The Kawasaki Ninja 500 SE is the higher-spec version of the Ninja 500, which replaced the Ninja 400 in this class from 2024. Its liquid-cooled 451 cc parallel twin produces 33 kW, keeping it within the A2 category while remaining usefully responsive in everyday riding. Compared with the base Ninja 500, the SE adds items such as a TFT display, keyless ignition, a USB-C outlet and upgraded finish; the engine, steel trellis frame and sporty riding position are otherwise shared.
It is a light, approachable faired motorcycle for riders who want an A2-compatible bike for commuting, twisty roads and occasional longer trips. The extra equipment does not make it faster than a standard Ninja 500. On a used example, confirm that it is genuinely an SE and that its original electronics, key set and bodywork are present. An advert that says only ‘Ninja 500’ is not evidence of this SE trim.

What to check before buying
- Test both keys and confirm that keyless ignition, steering lock and starting procedure work without errors; a missing or loose fob is expensive.
- Check the TFT display, USB-C outlet and handlebar controls for moisture marks, warnings and reliable phone-app connectivity.
- Inspect the fairing panels, mirrors, clip-ons and footrests closely for a low-speed slide; minor crash damage can be easy to miss on this low sport bike.
- Check chain, sprockets and rear tyre for even wear, and confirm that the first scheduled service was completed.
- Match VIN, model year and equipment to the original SE specification; a generic Ninja 500 advert is not proof of SE trim.
