About Benelli
Benelli is an Italian motorcycle brand founded in 1911 in Pesaro, in the Marche region. The brand has a rich racing history and in the 1970s introduced one of the first six-cylinder production motorcycles, the Sei 750. Today Benelli is owned by the Chinese QJ Group (formerly Qianjiang) and focuses on the mid-market. Popular current models include the TRK 502 and TRK 702 (adventure tourers), the Leoncino (naked/scrambler), the Imperiale 400 (retro), and various entry-level machines. Production takes place in both Italy and China.
In the Netherlands, Benelli is popular as an accessible entry point in the adventure and retro segments. The TRK range attracts riders who want an adventure tourer for less than a BMW or KTM. The dealer network is reasonably present via the national importer. Maintenance is affordable but requires familiarity with the Chinese production line. On the used market, TRK 502 models are well available. Benelli competes in the Netherlands with CFMoto and Royal Enfield in the value-oriented segment.
