Years

J-platform (2022-current)
GenerationThe new Classic uses the smoother 349 cc J-platform engine, balancer shaft, new twin-downtube frame and rear disc brake. It feels more refined and stable while preserving the classic silhouette.
Years
2009 - 2021
UCE generation (2009-2021)
GenerationThe older Classic 350 uses the 346 cc UCE single with five speeds and a traditional frame. Carburetted and injected versions coexist; vibration and right-side chain layout distinguish it from the J-series.
About the Royal Enfield Classic 350
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is the brand's best-selling single-cylinder retro and has been in production since 2009. The current generation (2021+) uses the 349 cc J-series engine with a counterbalancer, a five-speed gearbox and roughly 20 hp. A twin-spar double-cradle frame underpins it, while styling deliberately echoes the 1950s Bullet with deeply valanced fenders, a round headlight and a chromed exhaust header. The modest top speed of around 115 km/h confirms its character: this is a relaxed cruiser, not a sporting tool.
The Classic 350 targets riders who want the look and thump of a classic British single without the upkeep of an actual vintage bike. The 805 mm seat height and wide bars make it approachable for beginners and shorter riders, and the roughly 195 kg kerb weight feels planted at low speed. It suits city commuting and weekend rides on B-roads, but it feels tense above 100 km/h on the motorway. Cross-shop the Honda CB350 H'ness and the Benelli Imperiale 400.

What to check before buying
- Check the cylinder head and crankcase for oil seepage around the gaskets, especially on pre-2021 UCE models.
- Test the electrics (indicators, horn, headlight relay) for glitches caused by wiring-loom corrosion.
- Listen for top-end tapping at cold start; pronounced ticking suggests valve clearance or camshaft wear.
- Inspect chrome and paintwork for pitting and lacquer cracks; finish quality lags behind Japanese rivals.
- Check fork seals for weeping oil and rear shocks for leakage; both are common above 30,000 km.
