About the Kawasaki Ninja 500
The Kawasaki Ninja 500 is a compact sport tourer powered by a 451 cc parallel-twin engine introduced in 2024. It replaces the Ninja 400 and positions itself as an A2-eligible sport bike with a strong emphasis on riding enjoyment. The engine produces 45 hp and sits within a full-fairing body featuring a TFT display, assist and slipper clutch and sharp geometry directly derived from the Ninja 650 and Ninja ZX-6R.
The Ninja 500 targets A2 licence holders and beginner riders with sporting ambitions. The riding position is lower and less aggressive than a true supersport, but the handling qualities are excellent for the class. It competes with the Honda CB500F and Yamaha MT-03, but stands out with its more complete equipment and sportier character. It is also available in SE trim with additional colour options.

What to check before buying
- Check that the A2 power restriction was installed by an authorised Kawasaki dealer; self-installed restrictions can fail inspection.
- Inspect the battery charge on bikes stored for extended periods; the TFT electronics apply a standby drain.
- Check the indicators and small LED lights for correct operation; early 2024 models had a few reports of loose connectors.
- Watch tyre condition; tyres wear relatively quickly with spirited riding given the light weight and strong engine braking.
- Check chain tension and lubrication; under intensive use the chain needs more frequent attention than on heavier motorcycles.
