About the Harley Davidson Servicecar
The Harley-Davidson Servi-Car is a three-wheeled vehicle produced from 1932 to 1973, originally designed for garages and service businesses. It combines a Harley-Davidson engine (45 ci / 737 cc flathead V-twin) with a wide rear axle and a large cargo box. The Servi-Car was also widely adopted by police forces and parking enforcement as a low-cost, maneuverable alternative to a car.
Today the Servi-Car is a sought-after collector's vehicle among Americana enthusiasts and fans of vintage commercial transport. It is not a conventional motorcycle; it requires a trike-category licence. Original examples are scarce, and many have been partially modified. Mechanically similar to other flathead Harleys but offering a unique three-wheeled riding experience.

What to check before buying
- Check the flathead engine for oil pressure and valve lifter wear; these are the most common mechanical issues on high-mileage examples.
- Inspect the rear axle assembly for cracks at the joints and differential wear; original replacement parts are extremely scarce.
- Examine the bodywork and cargo box for rust and dents; a solid original box in good condition adds considerable value.
- Check all wiring for dry-rot; vehicles older than 50 years almost always have an aging electrical system requiring restoration.
