GenerationThe 900 MHR is the 864cc bevel-drive Mille Mike Hailwood Replica. Verify serial numbers, original NCR/MHR-specific parts and documentation; colour alone does not prove an authentic MHR.
About the Ducati 900 MHR
The Ducati 900 MHR, or Mike Hailwood Replica, translates Hailwood's 1978 Isle of Man TT victory into a road-going bevel twin. Beneath its red-and-green fairing sits an air-cooled 864 cc L-twin with desmodromic valve gear and five speeds. The long tank, low clip-ons and narrow seat create an uncompromising classic sports posture. Early machines are most collectible, while later series gained electric starting and detail revisions.
Buy on documentation, identity and mechanical condition. Check frame and engine numbers, build year, bodywork, wheels, exhausts and brakes against the correct series because replicas exist. Ask about valve clearances, ignition, carburettors, crankshaft and bevel-drive work, including who performed it. A cold start should not produce heavy mechanical knocking. Inspect glassfibre for cracks, the tank for corrosion, the frame for damage and crankcases for leaks. Original components are scarce, so a documented, correctly running motorcycle is preferable to a cosmetic restoration.
