About this model
About the GASGAS MC 250
The GasGas MC 250 is a motocross bike powered by a 249cc single-cylinder two-stroke engine, sharing its platform with the KTM 250 SX following PIERER Mobility's acquisition of GasGas in 2021. The engine features a power valve and produces around 44 kW (60 hp) in race tune. The steel frame is paired with WP Xact suspension front and rear. Production started from the 2021 model year.
The MC 250 targets experienced motocross riders who prefer the snappy power delivery of a two-stroke over four-stroke alternatives. At competition level it directly rivals the Yamaha YZ250 and Husqvarna TC 250. The shared platform with KTM means parts availability is excellent, keeping maintenance costs manageable.

Before you buy
What to check before buying
Check the piston and cylinder bore for wear; a two-stroke raced hard needs a top-end rebuild every 30–50 hours.
Inspect the fork leg bearings for play; WP Xact forks are susceptible to sand and mud ingress.
Examine the radiator for dents and leaks; motocross bikes fall frequently and the radiator is vulnerable.
Ask about clutch disc condition: a two-stroke clutch wears quickly under less experienced riders.
