Years
2005 - 2006
The late 999 gained revised bodywork, swingarm and more power in the standard bike. This is the sought-after late road version; check model year, original swingarm, belt history and evidence of track use.
Years
2003 - 2006
The 999S is the higher-spec Testastretta trim with sportier suspension and specification. It remains a 999 variant; check original S components, suspension service and complete maintenance history rather than bodywork colours alone.
Years
2003 - 2006
The 999R and Xerox-related race trims are the rare flagships with a stronger Testastretta, premium Öhlins and homologation/race parts. Match only with demonstrable R or Xerox documentation; VIN, engine code and original components determine value.
Years
2003 - 2004
The early 999 introduced Terblanche’s stacked-light nose, adjustable ergonomics and the 998cc Testastretta in Biposto/base form. Check timing belts, desmo valves, bodywork alignment and water pump on every early example.
The Ducati 999 is a superbike produced from 2003 to 2006, designed by Terblanche as the successor to the legendary 916/998 line. Its engine is the 998 cc Testastretta L-twin with a narrow cylinder layout delivering low weight and excellent mass centralisation. Standard output is 124 hp; the R variant pushes to 150 hp. The twin round taillights and polarising nose divided opinion at launch, today the 999 is considered a modern classic.
The 999 is aimed at experienced sport riders. The riding position is race-derived: high footpegs, low handlebars, committed crouch. It is uncomfortable on long distances. As a used buy it offers a direct connection to Ducati's racing heritage, the 999R and Xerox editions are sought-after collector pieces on the secondary market.
A used Ducati 999 costs €7,750 on average. Most cost €5,230 to €13,594. This is based on 23 motorcycles for sale now.
MotorMonitor now compares 23 used Ducati 999 motorcycles from Dutch sales sites.
The average used Ducati 999 is from 2005 and has done about 33,078 km.
