This is Yamaha's specified 35 kW version, producing about 48 PS from the 54 kW CP2 base. On a used bike, confirm that 35 kW is recorded as the current output and that any restriction paperwork is present.
Years
2025 - present
The 2025 generation is identified by new bodywork and a 6.3-inch TFT. YCC-T enables Sport and Explorer throttle maps, traction control and ABS can be disabled, and the 43 mm fork became fully adjustable.
Years
2023 - 2024
Extreme is the tall off-road specialist with a fully adjustable 43 mm KYB fork, 230/220 mm travel, a 910 mm rally seat, titanium footrests and a high front mudguard. Fuel capacity remains 16 litres.
Years
2023 - present
The 2023–2024 Explore combines an 860 mm seat and 190/180 mm travel with a larger screen, quickshifter and pannier stays. The 2025-on Low uses the same seat height and travel but otherwise follows the current standard version.
Years
2023 - 2024
For 2023 the standard bike gained a five-inch colour TFT with MyRide connectivity, USB, LED indicators and three-mode ABS. The CP2 engine and 210/200 mm suspension travel remained fundamentally unchanged.
Years
2022 - present
World Raid and the related World Rally use low-mounted dual tanks holding 23 litres, 230/220 mm travel, an 890 mm seat and roughly 220 kg wet weight. The revised 2026-on World Raid adds a six-axis IMU, cornering ABS, cruise control and a 6.3-inch TFT.
Years
2020 - present
The 2020–2024 Rally Edition combines a taller 895 mm seat, stronger bash plate, Akrapovič silencer and rally details with standard suspension. From 2025 Rally is a more substantial off-road version with 230/220 mm travel, a 910 mm seat and the new electronics.
Years
2019 - 2022
The original generation uses a vertical monochrome instrument panel, simple switchable ABS and the light, mechanically straightforward base layout. Its 689cc engine, 21/18-inch wheels and 210/200 mm suspension travel define the package.
Yamaha launched the modern Ténéré 700 in Europe in 2019 as a light middleweight adventure bike. A 689cc, 270-degree CP2 parallel twin produces 54 kW and 68 Nm in a steel double-cradle chassis with 21/18-inch wheels. The standard bike combines 210 mm front travel, 200 mm rear travel and a 16-litre tank. For 2023 Yamaha added a five-inch TFT, smartphone connectivity and three-mode ABS; the substantial 2025 update introduced YCC-T electronic throttle, two riding modes, switchable traction control and a 6.3-inch TFT. Rally, Extreme, Explore/Low and World Raid are materially different versions, and only World Raid uses the 23-litre dual-tank layout.
The Ténéré 700 suits riders combining paved travel with gravel and serious trails without moving to a heavy litre-class adventure bike. Its narrow body and linear engine help when standing, although the standard 875 mm seat warrants a test sit for shorter riders; factory-lowered versions exist. Yamaha also offers a genuine 35 kW A2 version, so verify the registration and actual output. Close alternatives include the Aprilia Tuareg 660, Honda XL750 Transalp and KTM 790 Adventure.
A used Yamaha Ténéré 700 costs €12,097 on average. Most cost €9,999 to €14,399. This is based on 239 motorcycles for sale now.
