Years
2013 - 2020
The original Tiger Sport is the road-focused 1050cc triple with ample torque, a tall touring stance and genuine long-distance intent. It is noticeably heavier and more powerful than the later 660, so this generation suits riders wanting that character.
Tiger Sport is Triumph’s sporty touring line built around a triple, and the name now covers mechanically very different motorcycles. The original Tiger Sport 1050 (2013–2020) is a large road-focused sport tourer using the 1050cc triple. From 2021 the much lighter Tiger Sport 660 arrived, a middleweight tourer with a 660cc triple that can be made A2 compliant. Triumph added the Tiger Sport 800 in 2025, using a 798cc triple and appreciably stronger performance for riders wanting something between those segments.
For buyers, displacement matters more than the tank badge. The 1050 is the long-distance option with abundant torque and significantly more mass; the 660 is easier in town and commuting; the 800 combines modern touring comfort with stronger performance. Always compare model designation, year and technical data on used examples. Advertisements that say only ‘Tiger Sport’ without capacity or trim are deliberately not auto-assigned to a specific generation here.
