About the Triumph Street Twin
The Triumph Street Twin is a modern retro naked from the Bonneville family, introduced in 2016. The liquid-cooled 900cc parallel twin produces 65 hp in standard tune and is more softly mapped than the Thruxton or Speed Twin, oriented toward daily city and highway use. The low riding weight and upright ergonomics make the Street Twin accessible for riders stepping up from a smaller bike.
The Street Twin targets riders who want the classic Triumph Bonneville style with modern reliability. With riding modes and traction control (2019+), it suits less experienced riders too. The bike is more comfortable than a Kawasaki Z900RS but less sporty in setup. Competitors include the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Honda CB650R.

What to check before buying
- Check coolant hoses and connections; early 2016–2018 models are susceptible to minor coolant leaks.
- Inspect the clutch for wear; a stiff or uneven clutch action is a known complaint at higher mileages.
- Check lighting and instruments on 2016–2018 models for known electrical faults.
- Check the seat height adjustment (optional low seat) for even wear.
