About the Triumph Rocket 3 GT
The Triumph Rocket 3 GT is the grand-tourer variant of Triumph's iconic mega-cruiser, powered by the world's largest production engine: a 2458 cc inline triple. Launched in 2019 as a fully redesigned second generation, it produces 167 hp and a staggering 221 Nm of torque. The GT spec adds a comfortable pillion seat, higher handlebars, a centre-stand, and a larger windscreen compared to the R version. Despite its size, it is made manageable by semi-active Showa suspension and electronically controlled riding modes.
The Rocket 3 GT is for riders who want the maximum torque available in any production cruiser combined with genuine touring capability. The motorcycle commands attention at every set of traffic lights. Despite weighing 308 kg, its low centre of gravity and massive torque make it surprisingly easy to ride. It competes with the Indian Challenger and Honda Gold Wing, but is the only real choice for those who want a three-cylinder mega-tourer.

What to check before buying
- Check the ride computer software version for available updates; Triumph has released multiple ECU updates for rideability and riding modes.
- Inspect the semi-active suspension for correct operation in all riding modes; a damper fault can significantly affect handling.
- Check the cooling system; the enormous engine generates considerable heat and the coolant needs periodic replacement.
- Inspect the Brembo brake pads front and rear for wear; the high mass demands regular attention to the braking system.
- Check the battery and electrical system condition; the extensive electronics require a suitable battery and regular charging during long storage periods.
