About the Boom Trike Low Rider
The Boom Trike Low Rider is a genuine Boom production series with a very low, comfortable seating position and steel tubular frame. It is a car-engined two-seat trike, not a regular motorcycle. The documented early Low Rider uses a Ford 1.6 Zetec four-cylinder and VW transaxle; later Low Rider Muscle versions received a 1.5-litre four-cylinder.
Engine, transmission and output differ by generation. Verify the type plate and engine variant before copying technical figures or ordering parts. The early 1.6 has four forward gears and reverse, while the later 1.5 produces 81 kW. Both combine the characteristic low seat with Boom’s independent rear axle and integrated braking system.

What to check before buying
- Check engine and transmission against the type plate: early 1.6 and later 1.5 are not the same trim.
- Test every gear, reverse and clutch; the early VW transaxle has four forward gears plus reverse.
- Inspect independent rear axle, brake servo, rear discs and brake lines for maintenance.
- Check low bodywork, luggage rack and underside for damage or corrosion.
