Years2025–present
The GSX-8T uses Suzuki's 776 cc parallel twin in a neo-retro naked with a round lamp and seventies-referencing tank shapes. Beneath the classic appearance are modern rider aids and an A2-restrictable, approachable powertrain.

The Suzuki GSX-8T joined the GSX-8 family in 2025 as a sport-classic with retro styling. Beneath the slim tank sits the same 776 cc parallel twin with a 270° crank that powers the GSX-8S and V-Strom 800, but the GSX-8T adds a round headlamp housing, a rounder seat and a more upright riding position with a clear nod to the old UJMs. Power output stays at around 83 hp, kerb weight is roughly 205 kg. Standard equipment includes a TFT display, three riding modes, traction control and a bidirectional quickshifter.
The GSX-8T targets riders who want modern 2020s naked-bike tech wrapped in a classic silhouette. It is well suited to commuting, weekend rides and short multi-day trips. Direct rivals are the Yamaha XSR700, Kawasaki Z650RS, Honda CB650R and Triumph Trident 660 (in retro trim); the Suzuki stands out with its 270° twin character, generous standard electronics and a roster of retro accessories that can be ordered from the factory.
On first-year examples, ask whether the wheel-speed sensor wiring has been rerouted per the Suzuki service bulletin that applies to the 8S and 8R; the wrong routing can throw ABS or TC warnings.
Inspect the retro steel tank for dings and stone chips; small dents are harder to disguise on steel than on a plastic tank.
Test every riding mode and the quickshifter in both directions on the test ride; like the 8S, low-rev hesitation can occur; engagement should be smooth from roughly 4.000 rpm.
Check chain stretch and hooking; the engine's strong torque wears the sprocket set faster than older middleweights with similar styling.
Ask whether the retro accessories (round screens, tail trim, headlight grilles) are factory or aftermarket; aftermarket parts can score panel and seat edges if poorly fitted.
