About the Moto Guzzi V 7 Classic
The Moto Guzzi V7 Classic is the modern reinterpretation of the iconic V7 from the late 1960s, introduced in 2008 on the then-updated 744 cc V-twin platform. With classic round bodywork, chrome accents, wire-spoke wheels, and a simple instrument panel, the V7 Classic nods directly to the original V7 Sport of 1971. The engine produces around 48 hp from an air-cooled twin with shaft drive, a formula Guzzi has been refining for decades.
The V7 Classic targets the rider who values style and nostalgia but wants no compromise on reliability. The low seat height and flat torque curve make it accessible for beginners and riders with shorter legs. In the city it turns heads; on country roads it shows its character. It competes with the Triumph Bonneville T100 and Royal Enfield Thunderbird of the same period.

What to check before buying
- Check the shaft drive for play and oil leaks at the final-drive housing.
- Inspect the clutch cable for wear and corrosion; the dry single-plate clutch needs regular adjustment.
- Check the battery condition; the alternator output is modest and a weak battery quickly causes starting problems.
- Look for oil seepage at the cylinder heads; original gasket sealant older than 10 years hardens out.
- Verify the Brembo brakes for pad and disc wear; braking power is modest and even slight wear is immediately noticeable.
