The KTM 1190 RC8 is a V-twin superbike produced by KTM from 2008 to 2013 as the flagship of the street-race model line. The engine uses a 1148cc (or 1195cc in the RC8R) 75-degree V-twin producing approximately 148–155hp. The RC8 was KTM's answer to the Ducati 999/1098, distinguished by its sharp orange design, very low centre of gravity, and traction control.
The RC8 targets experienced riders with a passion for circuit and canyon riding. The 840mm seat height and 185kg dry weight place it in the premium supersport class. It competes with the Ducati 1098/1198 and Aprilia RSV4. The RC8R (2009–2013) is the optimised race specification with higher tune and increased power output.
