The Honda CBF1000 is a 998 cc inline-four sport-tourer built from 2006 to 2013, derived from Fireblade technology but tuned for comfort. The original CBF1000 runs from 2006–2009; the thoroughly revised CBF1000F follows in 2010–2013 with a different engine, lower weight and revised fairing. CBF1000F is a merged alias to this active canonical model, not a separate platform.
Check valve clearances; the inline-four requires regular adjustment and it is often deferred by previous owners.
Check the exhaust at the collector joints and header flanges for rust and loose connections, which are common.
Check the clutch for slipping under high temperatures; a known issue on bikes used heavily in slow traffic.
Check the ABS module for fault codes; repair is expensive if the module itself needs replacing.
Check the half-fairing mounting points for damage from tip-overs; plastic clips break easily and can be missed at a quick inspection.
