The CB650 name covers two entirely different Honda lines: the air-cooled 626cc inline-four of 1979–1982 and the modern liquid-cooled 649cc fours. The generation rows therefore separate the classic Z/Custom, CB650F and CB650R by year and explicit model code, preventing a modern Neo Sports naked from being confused with a classic carburetted motorcycle.
