CB650R handgeschakeld (2024-heden)
EditionThe current manual CB650R has the 5-inch TFT with Honda RoadSync and retains the 649 cc inline-four with 70 kW and 63 Nm. It remains a conventional six-speed machine with a clutch and weighs 205 kg kerb. Do not confuse it with E-Clutch: it is not DCT, but it is heavier.

CB650R E-Clutch
EditionFrom 2024 the CB650R E-Clutch is Honda's first bike with this clutch technology. You can start, stop and shift up or down without using the clutch lever while retaining the six-speed gearbox and foot lever. The 649 cc inline-four makes 70 kW and 63 Nm; kerb weight is about 206–207 kg depending on model year.
Years
2021 - 2023
CB650R (2021–2023)
GenerationThe Euro 5 CB650R gained the Showa Separate Function Fork Big Piston fork plus refined detail and ergonomic updates. Its manual inline-four produces 70 kW and 63 Nm. At 202 kg kerb this is still the lighter version before the 2024 display and E-Clutch update.
Years
2019 - 2020
CB650R (2019–2020)
GenerationThe first CB650R replaced the CB650F with Neo Sports Café styling, radial four-piston calipers and the 649 cc inline-four. It produces 70 kW and 64 Nm, has an 810 mm seat and weighs 202 kg kerb. This is the early manual generation without E-Clutch.
About the Honda CB 650 R
The Honda CB650R is the Neo Sports Café naked powered by a 649 cc inline-four. It replaced the CB650F in 2019, gained a Showa SFF-BP fork in 2021 and from 2024 received a 5-inch TFT with RoadSync and optional Honda E-Clutch. E-Clutch is not DCT: the bike keeps six gears and a foot lever, but can operate the clutch electronically.

What to check before buying
- Check the regulator/rectifier and battery voltage; early CB650F/R units occasionally suffer heat-related rectifier issues.
- Look for corrosion and discolouration on the exhaust headers and collector under the engine; a known cosmetic weak point on Dutch winter-ridden bikes.
- Ask for valve clearance service history (recommended every 24,000 km); a tight intake valve causes hot-start hesitation.
- On 2024+ E-Clutch models, test both manual and automated modes for jerk-free operation through low-speed shifts.
- Inspect fork stanchions for oil seepage; the Showa SFF-BP fork seals weep if maintenance is neglected.
