799 cc · 102 hp
The CFMoto 800 MT-X is the off-road-oriented variant of the 800 MT family and reached European dealers in 2024. It uses a liquid-cooled 799 cc parallel twin (derived from the KTM LC8c architecture, built under licence) producing 75 kW (102 hp) and 80 Nm. The MT-X carries a 21-inch spoked front wheel, longer-travel suspension, taller bars and stronger sump protection than the Sport and Touring trims. Standard kit includes off-road ride modes, switchable rear ABS, traction control, TFT dash, cruise control and heated grips.
The 800 MT-X targets riders who want real off-road capability at a fraction of KTM 890 Adventure or Yamaha Tenere 700 money. At roughly 231 kg wet with a seat near 850 mm it does ask for some rider experience or longer legs. The riding position is upright with a wide bar. For touring, gravel and light enduro the MT-X is the right 800 MT trim; the Sport is more tarmac-focused.

Confirm early TFT and ride-mode firmware updates have been applied; first units reported bugs.
Inspect chain guard, footpegs and bolts for corrosion; finish under the bike is a weak spot.
Ask for service history and dealer choice; CFMoto parts lead times exceed those of KTM or Yamaha.
Test clutch action at higher mileage; wear has been reported under heavy off-road use.
Check the front fork for oil weep and adjuster condition; KYB suspension is good but seals need attention.
