About the Triumph Tiger Explorer
The Triumph Tiger Explorer was Triumph's first true heavyweight adventure: a 1,215 cc inline triple with shaft drive, launched in 2012 as a direct rival to the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure. The 137 hp triple delivers linear torque and the 20-litre tank offers easily 350 km of range. The chassis is a tubular steel frame with the engine as a stressed member; suspension comes from WP, with semi-active TES on the XCa/XRx trims. In 2018 the name changed to Tiger 1200, but the architecture stayed largely unchanged until the 2022 redesign.
The Tiger Explorer targets experienced GS riders looking for a triple-flavoured alternative with shaft drive and full electronic kit (cruise control, riding modes, ABS, traction control).
