GenerationThe GSX-8R is the faired 776cc twin with clip-ons and road-sport ergonomics. It is positioned differently from the 8S and remains separate from GSX-S1000 and GT families.
About the Suzuki GSX-8R
From 2024, the Suzuki GSX-8R is the fully faired road-sport motorcycle on Suzuki’s 776cc parallel-twin platform. It shares its engine basis with the GSX-8S but has its own fairing, clip-ons and sportier position; it is neither a naked nor a GSX-R supersport. With 61kW, 78Nm, 205kg curb weight and a 14-litre tank, it is a usable middleweight for twisty roads and daily riding.
There is one technical 2024–current generation. Only an explicit GSX-8R source receives this row; GSX-8S, GSX-8T, GSX-8TT, GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000GT belong to their own families. The 61kW twin can be restricted for A2, but always check the registration document for actual 35kW status. On a used 8R, service history, tyres, chain set, drop damage and correct quickshifter/electronics operation are the key checks.

What to check before buying
- Inspect tyres, wheels, fairing panels and clip-ons for evidence of a drop or track use.
- Test bidirectional quickshifter, traction control, ride modes, TFT and charging voltage; no warnings should be present.
- Inspect chain, sprockets and rear-wheel alignment; brisk acceleration and short rides accelerate wear.
- Ask for the first service and oil/filter history; check for leaks around engine, fork and brake calipers.
- For A2, verify the official restriction and registered output, not only advert wording or a loose limiter.
