About the Piaggio MP3 350
The Piaggio MP3 350 is a tilting three-wheeled scooter with two steered front wheels and a single rear wheel, built on the front-axle system Piaggio has developed since the MP3 launched in 2006. The 350 hpe version arrived in 2018 as a smaller, more accessible counterpart to the MP3 500: a liquid-cooled four-stroke single of around 330 cc paired with an automatic CVT and a hydraulic suspension lock that lets the scooter stand upright without the rider putting a foot down.
The MP3 350 targets commuters and city riders who want more grip and stability than a conventional scooter offers but do not need the heavier 500 cc engine. Thanks to the MP3 type approval, in many EU countries it can be ridden on a category B car licence, subject to age and training requirements. Owners value the wet-weather stability, the low step-through and the generous under-seat storage. The trade-off is noticeable bulk: it is significantly wider and heavier than a typical 300 cc scooter, which can make tight urban parking harder.

What to check before buying
- Check the hydraulic front-wheel locking system for leaks and correct operation; a failed lock is an expensive repair.
- Inspect the variator rollers and CVT belt for wear; ask for service records that include the transmission.
- Look for play in the front wheel bearings and steering bushings; the heavy front end wears them faster than on a single-wheel scooter.
- Confirm the ABS and traction-control warning lights extinguish after start-up; sensor faults are not unusual.
- Plastic underbody panels are easily damaged by speed bumps; check for cracks and poor repairs.
