The KTM 950 Adventure is a large adventure motorcycle powered by a 942 cc LC8 V-twin with water-cooling, produced from 2003 to 2006. Designed with Kiska Design, it was KTM's first motorcycle that could genuinely be used as a globe-trotting adventure machine, capable off-road yet practical over long road distances. With 98 hp and 95 Nm of torque it was a powerful twin for its era. The foundation is a steel tube chassis with WP suspension and a kerb weight of around 213 kg.
The 950 Adventure targets riders who combine serious long-distance touring with off-road adventures. The tall seat height (around 880 mm) and weight make it challenging on difficult terrain, but it excels on gravel roads. In the Netherlands it is a well-regarded used tourer for its V-twin character and robust build. Direct contemporaries were the BMW R 1150 GS and Triumph Tiger 955i. Succeeded by the KTM 990 Adventure.
