The KTM 450 SX-F is a four-stroke motocross motorcycle powered by a 449cc DOHC single-cylinder engine, introduced in 2007 and continuously developed since. KTM built the 450 SX-F as a top-performance motocrosser featuring electric start (from 2012) and an aluminium trellis frame. Weighing just approximately 99kg with over 60hp on tap, a combination that has won multiple MX1/MXGP championship titles.
The KTM 450 SX-F is a circuit-only motocrosser with no road homologation. It targets advanced and professional motocross riders. The 990mm seat height and explosive power delivery require genuine technical skill. It competes with the Husqvarna FC450, Yamaha YZ450F, and Honda CRF450R. The WP Xact suspension is adjustable for terrain and rider weight.
Check piston and cam for wear; four-valve engines require overhaul every 50–80 riding hours
Inspect radiators for dents and coolant leaks
Ask for crash history and frame inspection; a top-performance motocrosser carries a high crash risk
Check the electric starter (2012+ models) for wear
Check chain tension and wear on both front and rear sprockets
