The KTM 450 EXC is KTM's flagship large-class enduro: a road-registered 449 cc single-cylinder four-stroke that dominates Dakar Rally circuits while remaining legally rideable on Dutch public roads. It produces around 63 hp in an extremely light package of 108 kg, with fully adjustable WP XPLOR suspension tuned for both terrain and endurance use. The EXC line is characterised by close-ratio gearing, low-end torque delivery, and excellent ground clearance.
The 450 EXC targets experienced enduro riders who are active both off-road and on the tarmac. The engine is relatively slim and manageable, but the high seat height of around 960 mm makes demands on the rider. In the Netherlands it is also used as a dual-sport bike for gravel and forest trails. Its closest rivals are the Husqvarna FE 450 and the Beta RR 450.
