The KTM 1290 Super Adventure is KTM's flagship adventure-tourer, built around the 1301cc LC8 V-twin. The series launched in 2015, received a Euro4 refresh in 2017, an all-new chassis with a low-mounted tank in 2021, and a further update in 2025. It is offered in two flavours: the Super Adventure S, biased toward tarmac and long-distance touring, and the R with longer travel suspension and a 21-inch front wheel for off-road work. Semi-active WP suspension, cornering ABS, lean-sensitive ride modes, a 7-inch TFT display and cruise control are standard. Output sits around 160 hp and 138 Nm.
The Super Adventure is aimed at riders who want to cover serious distance, two-up and loaded if necessary, with the option to leave the tarmac. The seat is tall (around 850 mm) and wide, which is worth checking for shorter riders.
