Years
1996 - 1996
The 1996 ZX750-N1 is the genuine ZX-7RR homologation version with a 748 cc inline four and race-focused basis. Match this row only to ZX-7RR/ZX750-N1; a generic ZX-7R, ZXR750 or solo race fairing is insufficient proof.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-7RR is the rare Superbike-homologation version of the ZX-7R, supplied for the 1996 model year as the ZX750-N1. It is not a regular ZX-7R with an RR sticker: the RR provided the race-focused adjustable/homologation base, with a 748 cc liquid-cooled inline four, 41 mm carburettors and single-seat configuration. Kawasaki offered it specifically as a racing foundation; road use is possible, but the firm ergonomics, considerable mass and specialist parts are part of the compromise.
For a collector or track rider, value depends on originality. Check frame number, type plate, engine code and the correct RR-specific parts before accepting a premium. A ZX-7R is closely related but not the same model; it has a different homologation role and details. A later solo seat cowl or race fairing does not turn a standard ZX-7R into a ZX-7RR.
