About the Husqvarna TE 450
The Husqvarna TE 450 is a 449 cc four-stroke road-registered enduro from the TE family. The current generation shares its SOHC engine, chrome-moly steel frame and WP suspension with the KTM 450 EXC-F, producing roughly 49 hp at a sub-110 kilo dry weight. It comes with EFI, licence plate, lights and mirrors as standard but with enduro-specific geometry, 21"/18" wheels and tall ground clearance. Early generations (2006-2014) carried the Husaberg/BMW DNA; from 2017 the bike moved to the current Pierer architecture.
The TE 450 targets A-licence enduro riders who want to compete or ride long off-road days. The roughly 950 mm seat is tall, the bars narrow and the bike is most at home off-road, it's road-legal but seating position and wind protection aren't built for longer commutes. Direct competitors include the KTM 450 EXC-F, GasGas EC 450F, Beta RR 450 4T and Sherco SE 450 SEF-R. Always ask whether the bike has been serviced on the official engine-hour schedule before a test ride.

What to check before buying
- Ask for the engine-hour log, not just mileage; a 450 enduro works hard.
- Inspect valves and piston on the engine-hour schedule; deferring causes expensive damage.
- Check the air filter and airbox for dust or water ingress.
- Pre-2017 (Husaberg/BMW) bikes had reported oil pump and shifting issues; ask specifically for that history.
- Inspect the WP fork and shock for oil weeping; rebuilds are part of the normal maintenance plan.
