The Honda CR250 is a two-stroke motocross motorcycle produced from 1973 to 2007. Its engine is a 249 cc two-stroke single, initially carburettor-fed and later fitted with reed valves and a more powerful ATAC power valve exhaust. The CR250 was for decades one of the most competitive motocross bikes in the world and won multiple AMA championships. The model was continuously developed; the aluminium-framed generation (1997+) marked a major step in performance.
The CR250 targets motocross and off-road riders seeking a fast and lightweight two-stroke machine. It is not suitable for beginners due to the explosive power delivery typical of a two-stroke. The model is not road-registered in most countries. Used examples are almost always off-road or former competition bikes; carefully assess engine and frame condition. The CR250 is highly regarded in the vintage motocross scene.
