The Honda Transalp is a long-running series of light adventure motorcycles produced by Honda from 1987 onwards. The original XL600V/XL650V/XL700V series used a V-twin engine and was renowned for its simplicity, reliability and versatility over varied terrain. In 2023 Honda introduced an entirely new model, the XL750 Transalp, with a 755cc parallel-twin producing 91 hp, modern electronics and a completely new chassis, a significant step forward. Both generations are popular in the Netherlands.
The Transalp targets riders seeking a versatile motorcycle for both daily commuting and light adventure riding on paved and lightly unpaved roads. It is less extreme off-road than the Africa Twin but offers ample confidence away from tarmac. Its lower price, light weight and accessible riding position make it popular with beginning adventurers.
A used Honda Transalp costs €2,850 on average. Most cost €2,030 to €11,194. This is based on 52 motorcycles for sale now.
