About the Kawasaki KLX 110
The Kawasaki KLX 110 is a small off-road trail bike powered by a single-cylinder four-stroke 112 cc engine, introduced in 2002. The air-cooled SOHC engine produces around 7 hp and is designed specifically for children and small riders learning the sport in off-road conditions. The bike is not road-legal and has no lighting. An automatic clutch and simple controls make it ideal as a first bike.
The KLX 110 targets children from around age 8 and young riders up to about 14 taking their first steps into off-road riding. The low seat height and light weight maximise safety and accessibility. Direct rivals include the Honda CRF 110 and Yamaha TT-R 110. The bike is widely available as an entry-level choice at motocross clubs and is also suitable for small adult beginners.

What to check before buying
- Check the piston and cylinder bore for wear; small-engine use by children combined with infrequent oil changes leads to rapid piston wear.
- Inspect the air filter for contamination; off-road use clogs the filter quickly and a dirty filter causes rich running and increased oil consumption.
- Check the automatic clutch plates for wear; hard use with slipping starts wears the clutch quickly.
- Inspect front and rear brake pads for wear; frequent braking in children's use wears the pads faster than expected.
