NC 700

Introduced in 2012, the Honda NC700S and NC700X were designed from the ground up as practical, fuel-efficient everyday motorcycles. The 670 cc parallel-twin engine sits far forward in the frame, displacing the conventional fuel tank position; fuel storage moved beneath the seat, freeing up a large helmet storage compartment under the nose. The engine produces 51 hp at modest revs, making the NC700 smooth and undemanding in urban traffic. Three variants exist: the S (naked streetbike), the X (slightly adventurous, with a taller screen and raised ride height), and the Integra (DCT automatic with scooter-style bodywork).

The NC700 targets commuters and weekend riders who prioritise running costs over outright performance. At roughly 213 kg wet and with a manageable seat height, it is accessible to newer riders as well as experienced riders downsizing for practicality. Real-world fuel consumption of around 25 km/l is achievable. The optional DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) gearbox is especially popular with commuters. It competes with the Kawasaki Z650 and Yamaha MT-07, though Honda positions it firmly as a comfortable transport bike rather than a performance naked.
