Years
2021 - present
From 2021 the MSX gained a new engine with five speeds, replaceable body panels and a larger 6-litre tank. The fifth gear reduces engine speed on longer rides.
Years
2016 - 2020
The facelift gained an angular stacked LED headlight, new bodywork and a lower exhaust. Engine and four-speed gearbox remained broadly those of the first MSX.
Years
2013 - 2015
The first MSX125/Grom has a round projector-style headlight, four-speed gearbox and compact 12-inch wheels. Its simple air-cooled single and low mass make it very accessible.
The Honda MSX 125, marketed as the Grom in most markets, is a compact naked street bike introduced in 2013. The engine is a 125cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled SOHC unit paired with a four-speed gearbox. Despite the modest displacement it delivers a full riding experience on a miniature frame with 12-inch wheels, an upside-down fork and disc brakes front and rear. The fourth generation (from 2021) features a revised frame, a five-speed gearbox and improved suspension, with optional ABS.
The MSX 125 is ideal for beginners, city riders and enthusiasts who want a playful, lightweight motorcycle. At around 102 kg and with a low seat height it is approachable for first-time riders. It is equally popular as a second bike for experienced riders looking for urban fun. It competes with the KTM Duke 125 and Yamaha MT-125.
