Years
2020 - present
The current SC82 has the new 999cc engine and compact aerodynamics. Standard, SP and race variants differ greatly in suspension and power; verify trim through registration and VIN.
Years
2017 - 2019
The SC77 brought ride-by-wire, IMU electronics and a lighter package. SP variants have different Öhlins equipment; match that separately when stated.
Years
2008 - 2016
The SC59 gained a central exhaust system and further electronic refinement. The 2008–2011 and 2012–2016 phases differ but share this 998cc generation.
Years
2004 - 2007
The first litre Fireblade SC57 gained 998cc and an underseat exhaust. That is a key identifier beside later centrally mounted exhausts.
Years
2002 - 2003
The SC50 954RR refined the 929 concept with more displacement and sharper electronics. Check frame and engine code because 929 and 954 are often confused.
Years
2000 - 2001
The SC44 brought injection, 929cc and modern aluminium construction. The 929 designation distinguishes it from the later 954.
Years
1996 - 1999
The SC33 grew to 918cc and used a 16-inch front wheel in early years. It is the final classic carburetted 900RR.
Years
1992 - 1995
The original CBR900RR SC28 introduced the Fireblade formula: 893cc, low weight and compact proportions. Check original 16-inch front-wheel and fairing parts.
The Honda Fireblade (CBR900RR/CBR1000RR) is an iconic supersport motorcycle that revolutionised the market in 1992 by combining unprecedented power with a lightweight chassis. The liquid-cooled inline-four started at 893cc and grew through the generations to 954cc and eventually 998cc, with power outputs reaching over 180 hp in later versions. Honda's 'Total Control' philosophy was central to every iteration: the Fireblade should feel like a natural extension of the rider.
The Fireblade targets experienced riders who want to combine everyday usability with serious track performance. Its compact dimensions, excellent weight distribution, and progressive electronic rider aids in newer generations make it more versatile than many pure race replicas. Second-hand early-generation models (SC28–SC44) are popular with enthusiasts and relatively affordable; the newer SC77 generation brings MotoGP-derived technology to public roads.
