About the Honda CTX 1300
The Honda CTX1300 is a luxury cruiser/sport-tourer produced from 2014 to 2016. It shares its liquid-cooled 1261cc inline four-cylinder engine with the ST1300 Pan European. The CTX1300 combines a low, wide profile with a comfortable, slightly upright riding position, rider aids (ABS, traction control), an adjustable windscreen, and an infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity. It was an ambitious attempt by Honda to deliver technological differentiation in the premium cruiser segment.
The CTX1300 targets experienced riders who want comfort, technology, and American-inspired styling. Its weight makes it less nimble in the city, but highway comfort is excellent. It competes with the Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide and Indian Chieftain. The relatively short production run (2014-2016) means used supply is limited; parts are available through Honda dealers.

What to check before buying
- Check the condition of the Bluetooth infotainment system; the software is outdated and updates are no longer available from Honda.
- Inspect the tyres for wear; the high weight increases tyre consumption compared to lighter cruisers.
- Check the adjustable windscreen mechanism for correct operation; a stuck screen creates turbulence.
- Check the combined braking system (CBS) fluid levels; correct CBS operation requires periodic brake fluid renewal.
