Years2026–present
The current manual Africa Twin remains the lightest new standard version: 231 kg kerb, 21-inch front wheel, 18.8-litre tank and an 850/870 mm seat. Its 1,084 cc parallel twin produces 75 kW and 112 Nm. It is neither the Adventure Sports nor the DCT version; those are distinguished separately.

Years2026–present
The current standard Africa Twin DCT uses the 1,084 cc parallel twin, six DCT ratios and the off-road-oriented 21/18-inch wheel combination. The current DCT specification produces 75 kW and 105 Nm and weighs 236 kg kerb. Use this row only where the advert names DCT; a manual motorcycle belongs to the separate edition.

Years2024–2025
The 2024 update of the standard Africa Twin gained 112 Nm for stronger low- and mid-range pull. This manual version retains the 21-inch front wheel and long-travel layout of the off-road-focused standard bike. Kerb weight is 231 kg; Adventure Sports is a different model range with different geometry and tank.

Years2024–2025
The updated standard Africa Twin DCT combines the 112 Nm version of the 1,084 cc twin with the six-speed Dual Clutch Transmission. It suits riders wanting the off-road-capable, 21-inch standard Africa Twin without operating a clutch. DCT makes it heavier at 244 kg kerb than the 2024–2025 manual version.

Years2020–2023
The first CRF1100L Africa Twin with a six-speed manual is the pure, off-road-focused standard version. It combines the 1,084 cc parallel twin with a 21-inch front wheel, 230 mm of front travel and an 850/870 mm seat. The manual weighs 229 kg kerb and produces 75 kW and 105 Nm.

Years2020–2023
This early standard Africa Twin uses Honda's Dual Clutch Transmission instead of a clutch lever. Its engine makes the same 75 kW and 105 Nm as the manual variant, but DCT raises kerb weight by 11 kg to 240 kg. Always confirm that DCT is explicitly stated in an advert.

The Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin is the off-road-focused member of the modern Africa Twin family. The standard Africa Twin has a 21-inch front wheel, long suspension travel and the 1,084 cc parallel twin, and comes with a manual gearbox or DCT. Adventure Sports is a separate catalogue model and should not be compared blindly with this standard Africa Twin.
Check the underbody for terrain-related damage (scratches, dents in engine guards and sliders) on off-road ridden examples.
Check the DCT gearbox for fault codes and jerky behaviour in cold weather, requiring Honda diagnostics.
Check the windscreen mounting brackets for vibration cracks, a known attention point on the standard version.
Check the electronic suspension (Adventure Sports) for equal pressure and correct operation via the display.
Check chain tension and chain guard cover cleanliness after heavy off-road use.
