The Honda CRF 1100 L Africa Twin Adventure Sports is the premium variant of the Africa Twin range, introduced in 2020 as the successor to the CRF 1000 L. Powered by a 1084 cc parallel-twin producing 102 hp, the Adventure Sports distinguishes itself with a larger 24.8-litre tank, longer suspension travel (230 mm front, 220 mm rear), a higher windscreen setting, and an expanded electronics suite including semi-active Electronic Suspension Control. Honda's DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) is available as an option. Riding modes, cornering ABS, wheelie control, and adaptive mode selection are standard.
The CRF 1100 Adventure Sports targets experienced adventure riders planning long journeys both on and partially off-road. The tall 850 mm seat height (lowerable to 820 mm) suits riders of average to tall stature. Against the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure and KTM 1290 Super Adventure it offers greater range thanks to the larger fuel tank. It is one of the most technically sophisticated adventure motorcycles in its segment.

Check DCT operation (where fitted) for correct response in all riding modes; DCT repairs are expensive when components fail.
Inspect the semi-active suspension (ESCS) for fault codes at cold start; a faulty sensor can lock the suspension in one position.
Examine the crash bars and frame mounting points for damage after off-road use; the long travel makes it suitable for light off-road but also more vulnerable to tip-over damage.
Check the electronic riding mode systems (HSTC, wheelie control) for correct operation via the instrument system.
Inspect the radiator and cooling system for leaks; the parallel-twin runs hot in slow city traffic.
