Years
1985 - 1996
The early CMX250C Rebel uses a 234cc parallel twin with a low cruiser seat. It is an approachable light cruiser with chain drive.
The Honda CMX250 Rebel is an entry-level cruiser powered by a 234 cc four-stroke parallel-twin engine. Honda launched the Rebel in 1985 as a light, accessible cruiser with a low seat and relaxed riding position. Power output is around 22 hp and at 153 kg it is one of the lightest bikes in its class. Production ran until 2016; in 2017 Honda launched a completely new CMX300/500 Rebel with modern technology.
The CMX250 Rebel is a beginner's cruiser. The low seat height (690 mm) suits a wide range of riders, the light weight makes it easy to handle at low speeds and when parking, and the engine pulls smoothly in traffic. It is aimed at A1/A2 riders who want the cruiser look without the weight of a larger V-twin. Rivals include the Yamaha Virago 250 and Kawasaki VN250.
