Years
2021 - present
The revived generation combines a heavily revised PC40 base with winglets, ride-by-wire and modern rider aids. It was initially market-specific, so country of origin and type approval deserve extra attention on imported bikes.
Years
2013 - 2016
The final European PC40 series gained a central ram-air intake, new wheels and revised suspension. Its riding position and 599cc engine remain firmly supersport-focused, with C-ABS again optional.
Years
2007 - 2012
The all-new PC40 is more compact and lighter, using a shorter engine and centralised mass for quicker steering. Electronically controlled Combined ABS became optional from 2009, while the core engine and geometry remained recognisably the same.
Years
2005 - 2006
The revised PC37 became lighter and gained updated brakes, suspension and bodywork while retaining its high-revving 599cc inline-four. It is the developed first generation before the compact PC40.
Years
2003 - 2004
The first CBR600RR introduced MotoGP-inspired styling, an underseat exhaust and a much more track-focused chassis than the CBR600F. Early PC37 details and the pre-2005 nose identify it.
The Honda CBR 600 RR has been Honda's middleweight supersport motorcycle since 2003, replacing the more street-oriented CBR600F series. The engine is a liquid-cooled 599 cc inline-four with dual overhead cams, producing around 118 hp and 66 Nm from the 2007 model year onwards. The aluminium twin-spar frame and aerodynamic fairing trace their lineage to Honda's MotoGP RC211V of the same era. The CBR600RR dominated the Supersport World Championship from 2003 to 2008 and won again in 2010 and 2014.
The CBR600RR is a genuine circuit weapon with a street-legal personality: an aggressive crouch, high pegs and an 820 mm seat. It is therefore less suited to touring or daily commuting, but on trackdays and twisty mountain roads the balance between 600 cc power and agility is excellent. Direct competitors are the Yamaha YZF-R6, Kawasaki ZX-6R and Suzuki GSX-R600. Optional C-ABS (Combined ABS) became available from 2009, and a refreshed CBR600RR launched in 2021 for selected markets.
A used Honda CBR 600 RR costs €6,000 on average. Most cost €4,474 to €13,799. This is based on 63 motorcycles for sale now.
