About the Hercules MK 2
The Hercules MK 2 is a 50cc manual-shift moped from the Hercules range. The name is used on several versions, but its core is a light Sachs two-stroke with chain drive and manual controls. Check type plate, engine code and correct Mokick or Moped approval before adopting parts or speed claims.
The MK 2 is an appealing simple classic when mechanically original. At purchase inspect cylinder, seals, carburettor, clutch and chain, as well as the quality of 6V electrics. Non-original cylinders and exhausts are common. A complete machine with correct restriction and sound brakes is worth more than a tuned moped with unclear papers.

What to check before buying
- Verify type plate, frame number, engine code and Mokick/Moped approval before assigning parts or speed.
- Check the 50cc Sachs two-stroke, seals, carburettor, air filter and premix for cold starting and stable running.
- Test clutch, shifting, chain and sprockets under load for slip, jumping gears and incorrect gearing.
- Check ignition, charging, lights and loom for corrosion and non-original wiring.
- Inspect frame, fork, drum brakes, wheels and tank for corrosion, play and crash damage.
